This year marks the 5th Annual Race for Wandell, and we hope for it to be the best one yet. Dr. Josh Wandell was diagnosed with ALS in June 2013. The original diagnosis comes with a life expectancy of two to five years. Josh, his wife Tabitha, and their children, Jayla, Taylor and JT passed the four-year anniversary of his diagnosis this June and remain steadfast and determined as ever. Josh and his family continue to live as normal a life as possible.
Not only does this event raise funds to pay for Josh’s ongoing medical expenses, this event also raises faith—faith in the Lord and the plan He has laid before us. Josh continues to amaze all of us in his positive and encouraging message that faith always beats fear. During the past year, Josh has been able to continue his passion of racing, and his loyal and dedicated racing buddies continue to push him to the finish line at all the races.
We have a record number of sponsors and numerous contributors for this year’s race. We will have inflatables and vendors, and there will be something for everyone. Come join us for the ONLY 3K Certified Race in Tennessee, which begins at 10:00 am on September 23, 2017 at East Side Elementary School in Elizabethton. The competitive race will start at 10:00 a.m. followed by the fun run/walk at 10:30 am. Register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/TN/Elizabethton/RaceforWandell or drop off your registration form (available on our website at www.teamwandell) in person at the Chamber of Commerce at 500 Hwy 19 E Bypass in Elizabethton, TN from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Josh is the strongest person you will ever meet, and we continue to believe that he has touched more lives than we will ever know; he continues to be an inspiration to everyone. The world is a better place because of Josh Wandell and his message of faith over fear and his strength in fighting this terrible disease.
