Restaurant Review: Christiana Muir
For months I had been hearing about a fun and hip restaurant in East Nashville called Butcher and Bee, so I decided to give it a try for this month’s review. The restaurant has a cool and eclectic atmosphere where you can sit at tables, the bar, or my favorite: the chef’s table- a concrete bar overlooking the cooking area so you can watch as food is prepared. Butcher and Bee’s food is Southern with a Middle Eastern influence. Most plates have a variety of spices and sauces such as spicy honey, coconut gravy, chiles, and chives. The menu is constantly evolving with new seasonal recipes and all of the vegetables and meats are locally sourced. The food is flavorful and created with adventurous eaters
Their menu is simple with selections for small appetizers ($5), dips ($8), and entrees ($9-27). There’s also an option for $45 to have a multi course tasting of all of the chef’s favorite dishes. Butcher and Bee’s style is a little different than your typical restaurant. Instead of waiting until all of the meals are prepared, they deliver each plate as soon as it’s finished. This is the type of place where you find yourself wanting to try a little bit of everything. Honestly, I found myself unimpressed with the more expensive entree dishes and wished I would’ve ordered more appetizer and small entree plates to share. Not only is this option less expensive, but it gives you more flexibility to sample a variety of plates. Make sure to take a look at their cocktail and dessert menus as well.
I’d recommend this restaurant for a birthday meal, girls night out, or date night. Butcher and Bee has brunch, lunch, and dinner hours and menus. You can learn more by visiting butcherandbee.com. Butcher and Bee is located at
