Highlands Neurosurgery Welcomes Dr. Andrew Rice

Highlands Neurosurgery Welcomes Dr. Andrew RiceHighlands Neurosurgery, PC, a private, nationally recognized brain and spine surgery practice located at Bristol Regional Medical Center, has added neurosurgeon Dr. Andrew Rice to its medical team.
Specializing in minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques and treating a wide variety of spinal and intracranial diseases, Dr. Rice is the practice’s fourth neurosurgeon, joining Dr. Travis Burt, Dr. Jody Helms and Dr. Matthew Wood.

Rice earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed a residency program at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and a research fellowship in neurological surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.

“It is a privilege to join the experienced medical team at Highlands Neurosurgery,” Rice says. “I look forward to providing members of the Tri-Cities community with the world-class care that patients have come to expect from this well-respected practice.”

Rice is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the American Medical Association. He previously served as president and founder of the Neurosurgery Student Interest Group at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A noted scholar, Rice has authored six publications pertaining to the study of neurosurgery and neurosurgical techniques.

Highlands Neurosurgery is welcoming new patients as well as spine surgery second opinions.
