New Community 5k Race to Support Tennessee Voices for Children

On April 21  the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation, presents the city’s inaugural SpeakUp5k to encourage the community to speak up about these issues in a supportive and fun environment designed to shed light on challenges often kept in the dark.
The non profit says the race is “family-friendly, no-pressure and includes a fun zone with bubbles and silly string, and an inspirational segment with large displays of positive quotes to inspire runners near the end of the course”.
Along with SpeakUp5k races, the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation creates and delivers relevant programs, both in schools and at custom-designed community events, to youths and their families regarding mental health, stress management, and how to help friends who suffer.
Anxiety and depression affects one in four teens, and the numbers are rising.
Funds raised from this race will support local efforts to help teens find their voice to SpeakUp through the efforts of Tennessee Voices for Children.
