Lulu is one of Germantown’s newest health restaurants, located only steps away from the entrance to Nashville’s First Tennessee Park. With tall windows, wooden accents, and a funky pink logo, Lulu’s chic exterior preps the mind of its hungry visitors with an aesthetically pleasing entrance. As my best friend and I walked into Lulu, we were met by a glowing neon sign reading “YES TO ALL,” that was hanging on a beautiful display of polished white subway tiles.
Lulu prides itself on its incredible
pastry case, stand-alone coffee bar, and a menu that boasts unique combinations of fresh ingredients. Lulu’s motto, “without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible,” speaks to the restaurant’s focus on originality. My friend and I decided to split the “good thing bowl,” made up of brown rice, edamame, spinach, toasted sesame seeds and a carrot-ginger dressing, and the “Lulu veggie burger” that was topped with arugula and avocado and paired with crispy French fries. Ordering is easy at Lulu. All you have to do is snag a menu, browse the beverage island, place your order, and take your polaroid printed number to your table!
We devoured our meals at a long, white communal table as we watched various documentary clips on a large projector that hangs on the restaurant’s largest wall. The service was quick and friendly, and we thought the good thing bowl’s carrot-ginger dressing was flavorful in all the right ways. The Lulu veggie burger was satisfyingly rich, and the fries had a surprisingly peppery kick. For dessert, we hit the free frozen yogurt machine that offers dairy-free options made from fresh almond milk and coconut milk.
Dessert was our favorite part of the meal, no doubt!
Lulu finds a way to satisfy all your cravings, while leaving you asking for more! While at Lulu, we most definitely found ourselves saying, “YES TO ALL!”
