Walking into The Eastern Peak restaurant, the vibe is modern and fun. The reclaimed wood walls and polished concrete floors are trendy and stylish. As we are seated and given an opportunity to look at the food choices, the menu is extensive and is in line with the atmosphere of the restaurant; sophisticated and chic.
The Eastern Peak prides itself on using locally sourced products as well as hand-picked fish and beef. My husband and I start with some sushi; choosing from a diverse menu and settling on The Eastern Peak Roll; made with tamago, crab and avocado, topped with salmon aburi, roe, sesame seeds, scallions and a spicy sauce. Amazing! Very fresh and beautifully presented.
For my main course, I chose the Basil Duck; hand battered and fried boneless duck topped with a basil sauce, onions, peppers, carrots and fresh Thai chili. The melding of flavors make this dish an incredible choice. My husband has the Grilled Thai Steak; a 10 oz ribeye marinated in Thai spices and served with rice, grilled vegetables and a tamarind sauce. Out of this world!
We are too full to choose any dessert tonight; although Cheesecake Tempura sounds delicious. It’s okay; we’ll be back!
